As propolis, we define the resins and balms that bees collect from the tree bark and plant buds, mixing them with honey and wax, enriching them with enzymes and trace elements, and using them to protect the hive from animals, insects and microorganisms, and in addition to sterilize the honeycomb cells. Propolis prevents odors and microbial growth. It contains resins, balms, wax, essential oils, pollen, flavonoids, phenolic – flavoring substances and trace elements. The proportions of its ingredients vary according to the flora of the flock’s area of stay, but it contains more than 300 different substances that give propolis its remarkable antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and analgesic properties, thanks to which it has found several applications in modern hygiene, therapeutic treatment and cosmetology. Its antibacterial action is equivalent to antibiotics. It prevents sepsis and creates mild local anesthesia. It accelerates the process of skin irritations healing and enhances the regeneration of tissues. It is effective for oral hygiene and helps in the treatment of flu, sore throat, chronic pharyngitis, abdomen, gastroenteritis and colitis.

USE – DOSAGE

UNPROCESSED PROPOLIS: Use it to make solutions, ointments or other proprietary preparations (you may find several prescriptions online) or chew slowly, as a gum, a small lentil-sized piece until it begins to be rubbered and then swallow it. It is indicated for sore throat, cold and inflammation of the oropharyngeal cavity, such as ulcers, gingivitis, etc. Using it 2-3 times a day for three days is usually enough to relieve the symptoms.

PROPOLIS TINCTURE: Mix 10-15 drops with water, tea, milk or any beverage (even an alcoholic one) and drink 2-3 times a day, half an hour before eating. If you find the flavor unpleasant, you can add some honey. It is advisable to use it preventively during the months that virus diseases are on a rise, consuming 10-15 drops once a day for a week each month. Children 3-12 years of age can consume half the dose. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, as well as for infant use.

Propolis tincture contains resins with intense coloring that can cause stains in your clothes. Therefore, some attention is required for its use.
